Works 2000: Font Name in Font Box Disappears and Text Reverts to Default Paragraph Font (239259)

When you type the name of a font in the Font box and then press ENTER in a Microsoft Works Word Processor document, you may experience the following symptoms:
- The font name that you typed in the Font box may disappear.
- The text in the Works Word Processor document may revert to the
default paragraph font.
NOTE: The font name in the Font box may not always disappear. If this is the case, when you select text that is formatted with the invalid font name, the invalid font name may appear in the Font box.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur if the font that you typed in the Font box is not installed on your computer.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, highlight the text that you want to format, and then click the font that you want to use in the Font box.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
