Works 2000: Incorrect Bullets Appear in Word Processor Document (239234)

SYMPTOMS

The bullets that appear in a Works 2000 Word Processor document may be different than the bullets you selected in the Bullets and Numbering dialog box.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Wingding.ttf font file is missing or damaged.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, replace the Wingding.ttf font file. To do this, reinstall Works 2000:

  1. Insert the Works 2000 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive. Press and hold down the SHIFT key when you insert the CD-ROM to prevent Works 2000 Setup from starting automatically.
  2. Click Start, and then click Run.
  3. In the Open box, type the following line

    drive:\setup.exe

    where drive is the drive letter of your CD-ROM drive.
  4. On the Welcome back screen, click Next.
  5. On the Options screen, click Reinstall, and then click Next.
  6. Follow the instruction on the screen to reinstall Works 2000.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Works 2000.
