Works 2000: Toolbar On or Off Setting Is Not Saved (239230)

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Works 2000
  • Microsoft Works Suite 2000

This article was previously published under Q239230

SYMPTOMS

When you open a Microsoft Works 2000 Database file and a Works 2000 Spreadsheet file, and you then click to select or clear the Toolbar check box on the View menu, the change may not be preserved when you quit the program in which you changed the setting.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur because Works 2000 Spreadsheet and Works 2000 Database share the same toolbar. The status of the Toolbar view is preserved when the program is closed. The last program closed establishes the preserved state of the Toolbar view.

RESOLUTION

Before you close the last Database or Spreadsheet file, ensure that the Toolbar view setting is in the state that you want to preserve. Whichever state that you preserve becomes the state of the Toolbar view in both the Spreadsheet and Database programs.
