The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Works 2000
  • Microsoft Works 6

This article was previously published under Q239211

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to print a document from Works Word Processor in Microsoft Works 2000 or Microsoft Works 6, you may receive a low disk space warning.

If you click Cancel, you receive the following error message:
MSWKSWP caused an invalid page fault in module <unknown>.
If you click Close, you receive one of the following error messages:
  • MSWKSWP caused an invalid page fault in module Kernel32.dll.
  • Windows can not write to the printer spool file. Make sure you have enough space and try again.
NOTE: If you receive the second of the above error messages, the spooler failure message reappears when you click Cancel, and the document is not printed.

In addition, you may not receive a warning or an error message, but the document may not be printed.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the amount of available space on your hard disk is insufficient to create the temporary file needed to print the document.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, delete unwanted files and programs to increase the amount of available space on your hard disk.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
