Works 2000: Error Message Occurs When You Import a File from an Unsupported Version of Excel (239177)

When you are attempting to open a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet in Microsoft Works 2000, the following error message may appear:
Cannot load the conversion files.
When you then click OK in the error message box, the following error message appears
Works cannot open the file you selected. The file may be corrupted or it may be a file type that the spreadsheet cannot open. If you have a backup copy of the file, try opening that copy, or try opening the file in the program you created it in.
and the Works 2000 Spreadsheet Open dialog box reappears.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when you attempt to open an Excel spreadsheet that is in a format that is not supported by Works 2000. Works 2000 cannot import Excel worksheets from versions of Excel earlier than Excel 4.0.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, open the spreadsheet in Excel version 4.0 or later, and then save the spreadsheet as Excel version 4.0 or later.
