SYMPTOMS

When you select a number of Microsoft Works 2000 files in Microsoft Windows Explorer, and then, using the right mouse button, click Open to open all of the files at the same time, you may experience one of the following behaviors:
  • You receive an "Invalid Page Fault in module..." error message.

    -or-
  • You receive an error message indicating that too many copies of Works 2000 files are running.

CAUSE

Works 2000 does not have a limit set for the number of files that you may open at any one time. However, there are several factors that can cause this behavior to occur, including the following:

  • The total size of the files is too large.
  • The amount of Random Access Memory (RAM) on your computer is too small.

RESOLUTION

To work around this behavior, do one or both of the following:

  • Do not attempt to open all of these files at the same time.
  • Increase the RAM on your computer.
