Works 2000: Nothing Happens When You Double-Click Works CD-ROM (239154)

SYMPTOMS

When you double-click the CD-ROM for one of the Microsoft programs listed at the beginning of this article to view the contents of the CD-ROM, nothing happens.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if Works 6 or Works 2000 is installed on the computer.

RESOLUTION

To view the contents of the Works CD-ROM or the Works Suite Setup CD-ROM:
  1. Insert the Works CD-ROM or the Works Suite Setup CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive.
  2. On the desktop, double-click the My Computer icon.
  3. Right-click the CD-ROM drive that contains the Works CD-ROM or the Works Suite Setup CD-ROM, and then click Explore.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

MORE INFORMATION

To change the folder in which Works or Works Suite is installed, use the Add/Remove Programs tool in Control Panel to remove Works or Works Suite, and then reinstall Works or Works Suite in the new folder.
