The information in this article applies to:
This article was previously published under Q239140 SYMPTOMS
When you create a table in a Microsoft Works 2000 Word Processor document and you format a cell with shading, the cell may no longer change color when you select the cell.
CAUSE
This behavior can occur when both of the following are true:
- In the Borders and Shading dialog box, under Shading, Fill Style is set to 50% (the sixth selection from the top).
- Color 1 and Color 2 are set to opposite colors; for example, Color 1 is set to Black, and Color 2 is set to White; or Color 1 is set to Red, and Color 2 is set to Turquoise.
WORKAROUND
To work around this issue, change the Fill Style or color to anything else.
To change the shading of a table cell, follow these steps:
- Select the table cells you want to change.
- On the Format menu, click Borders and Shading.
- Change any setting under Shading, and then click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Works 2000.
