OL2000: Error Message: " The view is damaged..." (237854)

SYMPTOMS

When you start Outlook, you receive the following error message:

The view is damaged. Default view settings will be used.

An element of a view in the current folder is damaged.

Use the Cleanviews command-line switch to reset the view.

To apply the Cleanviews switch, follow these steps:

On the Start menu, click Run, and in the Open box, type the following command:
```
outlook /cleanviews
						
```
Click OK. Outlook will start without the previous error.

In some instances, it may be necessary to run the switch a second time. Additionally, some customized views may need to be recreated.
