To temporarily work around this problem, if the grammar check is occurring in the background, you can turn it off by using the following steps: - Click Options on the Tools menu.
- Click the Spelling and Grammar tab.
- Clear the Check grammar as you type check box.
- Click OK.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Office 2000 SR-1/SR-1a.
