Windows 98 Second Edition Hangs on Compaq Presario Notebook (237756)

When you upgrade to Windows 98 Second Edition or install Internet Explorer 5 on a Compaq computer that uses a Cyrix Media GX processor, your computer may randomly stop responding (hang), especially when you are connected to the Internet.
CAUSE
This issue can occur because the Cyrix Media GX processor is not on the Windows 98 hardware compatibility list.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, uninstall Windows 98 or use the Compaq Restore CD-ROM to restore the computer to the original configuration.
