The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Advanced Server
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Professional
- Microsoft Windows 2000 Datacenter Server
This article was previously published under Q237742 SYMPTOMS When you remotely manage alternate print drivers on a computer running Windows 2000, you may be unable to remove an alternate driver by clicking to clear the check box for the driver from the Additional Drivers area (located on the Sharing tab of the printer's properties). CAUSE This behavior occurs because you can only add alternate print drivers at this location. RESOLUTION To remove printer drivers from a print server: - From the Printers folder, click File, and then click Server Properties.
Note: You can do this remotely from a computer running Windows 2000 by clicking the Printers folder after you connect to the computer (click Start, click Run, type \\computername where computername is the name of the computer, click OK, and then double-click Printers).
- From the Drivers tab, you can add, delete, update, or view driver properties.
Important If you experience problems when you try to delete the printer driver, delete the printer first, and then try to delete the printer driver.
