NFL Fever 2000: Unable to Add Plays to Playbook During Season (237734)

SYMPTOMS

When you add new plays to a team's playbook in Microsoft NFL Fever 2000, the plays may not appear in the play picker when you play a game.

NOTE: The new plays are available when you play a Practice.

CAUSE

This behavior occurs if you add the new plays after you begin a season.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue from occurring, add the new plays that you want to use during a season to a team's playbook before you begin a season.

To work around this issue, use the following methods in the order in which they are presented.

Delete All of Your Saved Games

To delete all of your saved games:

  1. Start NFL Fever 2000.
  2. On the Main screen, click Loaded Saved.
  3. Click Single.
  4. Click the title of any game in the list of saved games, click Delete, and then click Yes.
  5. Repeat step 4 until you delete all of the saved games.
  6. Click Cancel to close the Loaded Saved Game window.
  7. Click Season.
  8. Repeat steps 4 through 6.
  9. Click Playoff.
  10. Repeat steps 4 through 6.

Create and Add the New Plays That You Want to Use

To create and add a new play:

  1. On the Main screen, click Manager.
  2. Click Playbook Manager.
  3. Click to select the team you want, and then click New Play.
  4. Under Formation, click to select the Formation you want.
  5. Under Sub Formation, click to select the Sub Formation you want.
  6. Right-click the quarterback icon, and then click to select the quarterback's action.
  7. Right-click either a backfield or a receiver player icon, and then click the circle that terminates the path you want that player to take.
  8. Repeat step 7 until the path for each backfield and receiver player is selected.
  9. Click Save Play.
  10. Type the name of the play in the Play Name box.
  11. Click OK, click Close, and then click Close again.
  12. Click Main to return to the Main screen.
NOTE: If you want to create and add new plays to more than one team's playbook, you must repeat these steps for each team.

Start a New Season

To start a new season:

  1. On the Main screen, click New Season.
  2. Under Difficulty, click to select Rookie, Veteran, or All Pro.
  3. Under Length of Quarter, click to select 3, 5, 10, or 15.
  4. Under Schedule, click to select Random or NFL 99.
  5. Click Create Season.
  6. Click Main to return to the Main screen, or click Kickoff to start the first game of the season.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft NFL Fever 2000, version 1.0.
