SYMPTOMS

When you connect a Microsoft Internet Keyboard or a Microsoft Natural Keyboard Pro to a Universal Serial Bus (USB) port on the computer, you may experience the following symptoms:
  • The keyboard may not be detected by the operating system during the startup sequence.
  • The LED lights on the keyboard may not work correctly.

CAUSE

This behavior may occur if the USB Host Controller in the computer uses the Open Host Controller Interface (OHCI).

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, connect the keyboard to both the USB and PS/2 ports on the computer.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed in the "Applies to" section.
