This article was previously published under Q237576 Novice: Requires knowledge of the user interface on single-user computers.
This article applies to a Microsoft Access database (.mdb) and to a Microsoft Access project (.adp).
SYMPTOMS
When you use the Analyze It with MS Excel command on the Office Links submenu on the Tools menu to export a table, the table is exported to a Microsoft Excel 5.0/95 Workbook (.xls) format. This happens even if you have a version of Excel later than 5.0 or 95 on your computer.
RESOLUTION
After you have exported the table by using the Analyze It with MS Excel command, click Save as on the File menu in Excel to save it in a later file format.
To export a table directly to a Microsoft Excel 97-2000 Workbook (.xls) format, use the Export command on the File menu in Access. This enables you to select the Excel format to which you want to export.
