If you restart your computer in MS-DOS mode while you are running
Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia 2000, you may receive the following
error message:
The program has performed an illegal operation and will be shut down.
If the problem persists, contact the program vendor.
If you click Details, you receive the following error message:
Enc2000 caused a stack fault in module Kernel32.dll.
RESOLUTION
To resolve this issue, restart the computer. If you continue to receive
the error message, remove and reinstall Encarta Encyclopedia 2000:
- Click Start, point to Settings, and then
click Control Panel.
- Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
- In the the list of installed programs, click Microsoft
Encarta Encyclopedia 2000, and then click
Add/Remove.
- When you are prompted to confirm the removal of Encarta
Encyclopedia 2000, click Yes.
- Reinstall Encarta Encyclopedia.
