SUMMARY

This article explains how to view the Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server raw directory.

MORE INFORMATION

To view the Exchange 2000 raw directory:
  1. Copy the Adsiedit.dll file from the Windows 2000 Support\Reskit\Netmgmt\Dstool folder (located on the Windows 2000 support tools installation CD that comes with Windows 2000) to the SystemRoot\System32 folder.
  2. At a command prompt, change directory to SystemRoot\System32.
  3. Type regsvr32 adsiedit.dll.
  4. Click Start, click Run, type MMC, and then click OK.
  5. On the Console menu, click Add/Remove Snap-in.
  6. Click Add, click ADSI Edit, click Add, click Close, and then click OK.
  7. In the Console Root, ADSI Edit window, click ADSI Edit.
  8. On the Action menu, click Connect to.
  9. From the Naming Context box, click Schema.
  10. Under Computer, in the Select or type a domain or server box, type in the fully-qualified domain name for your target server, and then click OK.
  11. You should now see a Schema object underneath the ADSI Edit object within the Console Root, ADSI Edit window. Expand this object. This attaches you to the Exchange 2000 Schema. To view the raw properties of an object within the schema, double-click an attribute in the right-hand window pane.
