WD2000: A2 Envelope Size Unavailable When Using HP OfficeJet 600 (237368)

SYMPTOMS

If you use a Hewlett-Packard OfficeJet 600 printer, when you try to set Word to use an A2 envelope (4.38 x 5.75 inches), the A2 envelope size is unavailable. Also, when you click Custom to create a custom envelope size, Word displays the following error message:
Word has increased the envelope height or width because it was too small. The minimum envelope dimensions are 6.4" by 2.13".
NOTE: To create a custom envelope size in Word, click Envelopes and Labels on the Tools menu. On the Envelopes tab, click Options. On the Envelope Options tab, expand the Envelope size box and click to select Custom size. In the Envelope Size dialog box, change the Width box to the envelope width you want, and change the Height box to the envelope height you want, and then click OK.

WORKAROUND

To create an A2 envelope in Microsoft Word 2000 if you use a Hewlett-Packard OfficeJet 600 printer, do the following steps:
  1. On the File menu, click New.
  2. On the General tab, click Blank Document and click OK.
  3. On the File menu, click Page Setup.
  4. On the Paper Size tab, change the Paper size box to A2 Envelope (4.38 x 5.75 in).
  5. Under Orientation, click to select Landscape.
  6. Click OK.
