SYMPTOMS

When you right-click the screen when you play a video clip in Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia 2000, the shortcut menu may appear transparent and be difficult to read.

NOTE: This issue occurs only with the DVD-ROM version of Encarta Encyclopedia 2000.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the following conditions are true:
  • The video adapter installed in your computer uses hardware overlay.

    NOTE: To determine if the video adapter installed in your computer uses hardware overlay, contact the manufacturer of your video adapter.

  • You play the video clip in Full Screen Video mode.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue from occurring, do not play video clips in Full Screen Video mode.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Encarta Encyclopedia 2000.
