SideWinder: Cannot Uninstall If the Precision Racing Wheel Properties Dialog Box Is Open (237248)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to uninstall the products listed at the beginning of this article, you may receive the following error message:
Uninstall is unable to continue. Device is disconnected, unable to remove critical files.
If you click OK, the dialog box disappears.

If you click Details, you receive the following list of files that Setup could not remove:

devcontrol109a.ocx
devcontrol109b
setpage09.dll
testpage09.dll

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you start to uninstall the products while the SideWinder Precision Racing Wheel Properties dialog box is open.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, close the Properties dialog box, and then try to uninstall the product again.
