SYMPTOMS

After you connect one of the game controllers listed at the beginning of this article into the Universal Serial Bus (USB) port on the computer, you may receive an error message on a blue screen.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if you disconnect the game controller during the enumeration process.

RESOLUTION

To prevent this issue from occurring, do not disconnect the game controller until the enumeration process is complete.

During the enumeration process, Microsoft Windows assigns system resources to each of the hardware devices detected in your computer.
