When you apply Preset Animations to Outline text in PowerPoint, the animation always applies to the text in the Body placeholder, even if the text in the Title placeholder is highlighted.

If you want to apply a Preset Animation to a Title text area, you must highlight the text in Slide view.
NOTE: Using Preset Animations, you can assign only one animation to any given placeholder. If you want to use multiple animation effects in a single placeholder, click Custom Animation on the Slideshow menu, instead of Preset Animation.
