VIZACT: Image Transparency Visible Only in Internet Explorer 5 or Later (236650)

SYMPTOMS

When you apply transparency to an image in Microsoft Vizact and view the page in a browser other than Internet Explorer 5 or later, you do not see the transparency of the image.

CAUSE

When you apply transparency to an image, Vizact does not make modifications to the image itself. Instead, it uses a special effect built into Internet Explorer 5 to render the transparency. This adds functionality to the transparency, such as the transparency level and color, and allows you to apply timing and interactivity to the transparency.

WORKAROUND

To apply transparency to an image that you can see in browsers other than Internet Explorer 5, you must edit the source image in an image editing application, such as Microsoft Photo Draw 2000 or Microsoft Image Composer, to set the transparency.

Note that any partial transparency or any other effects that you apply to the image in Vizact will not be viewable in browsers other than Internet Explorer 5. Other browsers will display the source image as it was before you applied effects and behaviors in Vizact.
