OL98: (IMO) Word Prompts for Delimiter When Merging Contacts (236096)

You try to perform a mail merge from Word using Outlook contacts, and when you choose the Outlook Address Book, you are prompted to select the header record delimiter.
CAUSE
The contacts are based on a custom form.
RESOLUTION
Use a utility to change the message class field of the Outlook contacts back to IPM.Contact, perform the mail merge, and then run the utility again to reset the message class fields, so the contacts again use your custom Contact form.

STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
This problem was corrected in Microsoft Outlook 2000.
