This article was previously published under Q235456 SYMPTOMS
When you add or remove Windows 2000 components during Windows 2000 Setup or after Setup with the Add/Remove Programs tool, you receive informational messages about components you are not trying to add or remove. For example, even though you may not have selected the Microsoft Internet Information Services (IIS) component, you receive the following informational message when you install or remove a component:
Completing Configuration of Internet Information Services
CAUSE
This behavior occurs because when you install or remove a component,
the status of all components is checked by the Optional Component Manager (OCM) to determine if they should be installed or removed. However, only the components you choose are installed or removed.
STATUS
This behavior is by design.
