This article describes how to print to a text file from the programs listed at the beginning of this article.

If a printer is not attached to your computer, you can copy a text file to a different computer and then print the file using a printer attached to that computer.

NOTE: You can also use this feature to save scorecards as well as course and player statistics from a game.

MS-DOS Versions without an Attached Printer

Links 386 CD and Links 386 Pro

To print scorecards or course and player statistics:

  1. Display the screen you want to print.
  2. Click Print.
  3. When you receive the following error message
    An error was detected during printing. Do you want to RETRY?
    click No. Links 386 or Links 386 Pro sends the information to a text (.prn) file.

    NOTE: You can only print one player scorecard at a time, and you must repeat this process for each player or course.
  4. Quit the game, and then copy the appropriate files to a floppy disk.
  5. Insert the floppy disk in a computer equipped with a printer, and print out each file as a text file.

    NOTE: You can use this process to print the contents of the following files:

Links LS MS-DOS

To print scorecards or course and player statistics:

  1. Display the screen you want to print.
  2. Click Print.
  3. Links LS 97 creates a text (.txt) file in the Links LS MS-DOS installation folder.

    NOTE: You can only print one player scorecard at a time, and you must repeat this process for each player or course.
  4. Quit the game, and then copy the appropriate files to a floppy disk.

Windows Versions

Links LS 1998 Edition and Links LS 1999 Edition

Links LS 98 and Links LS 99 use Windows printer settings to print the scorecard and course and player statistics.

To print the scorecard:

  1. Click Print while the scorecard is displayed on the screen.
  2. On the Printer Options screen, click one of the following options:
    • Send to Printer Only

    • Send to Printer and Create Text File

    • Create a Text File Only

  3. Click OK.
To print course and player statistics:

  1. On the Links startup screen, click Options.
  2. On the Options screen, click Course Stats or Player Stats, and then click Print.
  3. On the Printer Options screen, click one of the following options:
    • Send to Printer Only

    • Send to Printer and Create Text File

    • Create a Text File Only

  4. Click OK.
