OFF97: Windows Resources Not Completely Restored After Leaving Program (235353)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Excel 97 for Windows
- Microsoft Word 97 for Windows
This article was previously published under Q235353 SYMPTOMS
After you quit one of the Office 97 programs listed above, Windows system resources may remain slightly lower than their previous amount.
CAUSE
System resources remain lower because the program loads some shared resources when started and does not completely unload them when closed. This is done so that the application loads much faster the second and subsequent times.
MORE INFORMATION
In Microsoft Windows 98, you can use the Microsoft System Information tool (Msinfo32.exe) to monitor changes to system resources. To start Microsoft System Information, on the Start menu, point to Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click System Information.
