SYMPTOMS

When you try to connect to a Novell NetWare-based server, you may be unable to do so, and this may occur even if you are running the Microsoft Gateway Services for Netware (GSNW) or Client Services for Netware (CSNW) with Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) installed.

CAUSE

This issue occurs because Gateway Services for Netware (GSNW) and Client Services for Netware (CSNW) only support the IPX/SPX protocol.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, install the IPX/SPX protocol, or install the Novell Client32 for Windows NT.
