WD98: X of Y Page Numbering Format Doesn't Print Total Pages Value (234999)

When you use the X of Y page numbering format, with X representing the page number and Y the total number of pages in the document, the total number of pages value may not print correctly. Instead, the document is numbered similar to the following:
Page 1 of 1
Page 2 of 2
Page 3 of 3
and so on.
: You do not see the problem on screen or in print preview.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, use one of the following methods:
Method 1- Quit Word.
- Locate the Word Settings (8) file in the System Folder:Preferences folder.
- Drag the Word Settings (8) file to the Trash.
- Start Word.
Word 98 will generate a new Word Settings (8) file, and the problem should no longer be present.
Method 2
When you print your file, use the Print command (on the File menu) instead of the Print button on the Standard toolbar.
