XWEB: IIS May Not Work When OWA Is Being Heavily Accessed (234671)

SYMPTOMS

It is possible that when Outlook Web Access (OWA) is being heavily used the CDO component may fail in Internet Information Server (IIS). The symptoms may vary including Dr. Watson messages and messages reporting that IIS is no longer responding or accepting client requests.

WORKAROUND

Restart IIS for continued normal operation.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Exchange Server version 5.5. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the OWA component of Microsoft Exchange Server 5.5. This problem was first corrected in Exchange Server 5.5 Service Pack 3.
