SYMPTOMS

You may encounter invalid data in an OLE document file before you enter any user data. This may appear as random bytes of data in the file right after creation.

CAUSE

This problem occurs in Ole32.dll because the document file structure was not initialized after creation.

RESOLUTION

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Windows NT 4.0. This problem was first corrected in Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5.

After you install Windows NT 4.0 Service Pack 5, all fields should be blank and ready for user input after creation.
