Err Msg: Error Loading the Pipeline Configuration Data from the File (234518)

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to execute the transaction pipeline against a remote SQL Server computer, the following error occurs:
Error loading the pipeline configuration data from the file:
...config\purchase.pcf SQLItemADO --
...Server execution failed

CAUSE

This may be caused by a lack of communication between the DTC on the Commerce Server computer and the DTC on the SQL Server computer. It may be caused by permissions or an inability of the services to communicate with each other.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, do the following:
  1. Make sure the MTS System package is running as an Administrative user:

    1. Open the MMC, double-click Transaction Server, double-click Computers, double-click My Computer, and then double-click Packages Installed.
    2. Right-click on the System package and choose Properties, click the Identity tab, and change the user to an administrative user.
  2. Verify that the DTC service is started on both computers.
