Use any of the following methods to communicate with other players in a Links LS 99 multiplayer game.

Chat Camera

The Chat Camera feature enables you to send text messages and recorded wave audio (.wav) files to other players. To use the Chat Camera:

  1. Start a Links LS 99 multiplayer game.
  2. Click Display at the bottom of the screen, and then click Cameras.
  3. In the Open Camera box, click Chat, and then click Open.
  4. Type your message, and then press ENTER.
To configure predefined chat strings:

  1. Start a Links LS 99 multiplayer game.
  2. Click Display at the bottom of the screen, and then click Cameras.
  3. In the Open Camera box, click Chat, and then click Open.
  4. Move your mouse pointer to the top of the Chat box to display the toolbar.
  5. Click C.
  6. Type the text you want in each of the chat string boxes.
  7. Note the keystroke combination associated with each chat string, and then click OK.
  8. When you want to send a chat string, press the appropriate keystroke combination you noted in step 7.

Audio Chat

The Audio Chat feature enables you to communicate with other players and spectators using recorded messages. To enable the Audio Chat feature in a multiplayer game:

  1. On the Links LS 99 startup screen, click Options.
  2. Under Settings, click Multi-Player Settings.
  3. In the Voice Chat Setting box under Host Settings, click Audio Chat On.
  4. Click OK, and then click Close.
NOTE: To use the Audio Chat feature, you need a working microphone. In addition, a full-duplex sound card must be installed in your computer.

To use the Audio Chat feature:

  1. Start a Links LS 99 multiplayer game.
  2. Click Display at the bottom of the screen, and then click Cameras.
  3. In the Open Camera box, click Chat, and then click Open.
  4. Move your mouse pointer to the top of the Chat box to display the toolbar.
  5. Click T and hold down the mouse button.
  6. Speak into the microphone.
  7. Release the mouse button to send your message.
