MS-DirSync Cannot Synchronize Password Changes on Disabled NDS Accounts (234064)

SYMPTOMS

Attempting to synchronize a password change made to a user account in Active Directory to the analogous NDS user account by using the Microsoft Directory Synchronization (MS-DirSync) tool does not succeed if the NDS user account has been disabled.

CAUSE

Password changes on disabled NDS user accounts are prohibited in Novell NetWare.

RESOLUTION

Enable the appropriate NDS user account before attempting to synchronize password changes from Active Directory to NDS by using MS-DirSync.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
