Membership Directory Manager Does Not Display Expiration Date (234008)

SYMPTOMS

The expiration property for a member in a Site Server Membership group is not correctly displayed in the Membership Directory Manager (MDM) after you apply the post-SP2 fix described in the following Microsoft Knowledge Base article:

NOTE: This occurs with both the Microsoft Management Console (MMC) snap-in and the Web-based Administration tool for the MDM.

CAUSE

The expiration attribute can be properly set and retrieved through scripting; however, the MDM fails to show that an expiration date has been set for a member in a group.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this problem, obtain the latest service pack for Site Server 3.0. For additional information, click the following article number to view the article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

MMC Information

If you use any of the following methods to display the expiration property, the MMC fails to show that a date has been set:
  • Open the properties of a user (cn=Administrator) in the ou=members container. Click the Group tab. The second column should display the Expire date.
  • Click the Group tab, select one of the groups, and then click the Expire button. If only one group is selected, the Expire date should be displayed.
  • Open the properties of a group (cn=Public) in the ou=groups container. Click the Members tab. Select a member and click the Expire button.
