WD98: Word Work File May Be Created with Each Save When "Allow Fast Saves" Not Selected (233995)

In Word 98, when the Allow fast saves check box is cleared on the Save tab of the Preferences dialog box, you may notice that a new temp file is written for each save to the location where the open file is stored on your hard disk.
WORKAROUND
To reduce the number of temp files created, select the Allow fast saves check box on the Save tab of the Preferences dialog box.
