PRB: Comclust.exe Brings Inaccurate Error Message (233301)

SYMPTOMS

If you install Windows 2000 Advanced Server and configure a cluster, and then you run Comclust.exe, the following message appears:

Setup has successfully populated configuration information to allow MS DTC to run on this cluster node. Please run setup on all other nodes in the cluster before continuing.

This message is inaccurate.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.

Step to Reproduce this Behavior

  1. Install Windows 2000 Advanced Server.
  2. Configure cluster.
  3. Run Comclust.exe.
ComClust directs you to run Comclust.exe on the other node before continuing, but then it continues to create the next resource and exits before you have an opportunity to run Comclust.exe on the second node.
