XFOR: Memory Leak in LDAP Service When Using Migration Wizard (233213)
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Exchange 2000 Server
This article was previously published under Q233213 SYMPTOMS
When you use the LDAP Migration wizard and perform multiple scans on huge containers, the LDAP service does not release memory. For each container scanned, the service seems to add more memory, eventually leading to a point where all available memory is used up and CPU usage is at 100 percent.
RESOLUTION
When memory gets low, a message from Windows 2000 warns of low virtual memory and asks to close some applications. Closing applications alleviates the memory problem.
