SYMPTOMS

When you view your ES1869 Plug and Play AudioDrive sound card in Device Manager, there may be a yellow exclamation point and a status of Code 10 for the sound card. You may also receive the following error message:
fatal exception 0E @ 0028:c0030185 in VxD ntkern (01) +0000e351

CAUSE

This issue can occur after you upgrade your Microsoft Windows 95-based or Microsoft Windows 98-based computer to Windows 98 Second Edition.

RESOLUTION

To resolve this issue, remove and reinstall the ES1869 Plug and Play AudioDrive sound card:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click System.
  2. Click the Device Manager tab, click the ES1869 Plug and Play AudioDrive sound card, click Remove, click OK, and then click OK.
  3. Click Yes when you are prompted to restart your computer.
  4. After your computer restarts, the ES1869 Plug and Play AudioDrive sound card should be detected and installed properly.
