When you try to gain access to an Exchange 2000 Server computer by using an Internet Message Access Protocol (IMAP) client, you cannot issue a logon command by using the full Domain Name System (DNS) domain name of your Exchange 2000 server. To connect to your Exchange 2000 server with an IMAP client, you must specify your domain name by using a network basic input/output system (NetBIOS) name.
