Cannot See Entire Custom Message in Profile Size Properties (233007)

SYMPTOMS

When configuring a Group Policy, an administrator is unable to see the complete custom message in Limit Profile Size policy properties without scrolling through the dialog box with the text-select pointer.

CAUSE

This issue can occur if you are trying to view more than 43 characters. The size of the dialog box is limited to displaying 43 characters.

RESOLUTION

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.
To work around this issue, use Registry Editor to view the complete message in the following registry key:

HKEY_Current_User\Software\Microsoft\GroupPolicyObject\LocalUser\Software \Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\ProfileQuotaMessage

NOTE: To view all of the custom message, verify that you are viewing the binary data in a byte format.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.

If a custom message is longer than 500 characters, the following default error message is generated:
You have exceeded your profile storage space. Before you can log off, you need to move some items from your profile to the network or local storage.
