The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft BackOffice Small Business Server 4.5
This article was previously published under Q232572 SYMPTOMS
Small Business Server (SBS) 4.5 Not For Resale (NFR)/Evaluation version includes six Client Access Licenses (CAL), however, the licensing page displays only one CAL.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in BackOffice Small Business Server 4.5 NFR/Evaluation. MORE INFORMATION
Although the license page reports only one CAL, you can still connect up to six clients to the computer running SBS. You can only connect five users running Microsoft Outlook to the server because Exchange Server uses one CAL when it is running.
This problem only occurs on the SBS 4.5 NFR/Evaluation version. In the full retail or upgrade SBS program, the license page reports the correct number of CALs and you can connect the correct number of computers running Outlook.
