The Ssbezier.scr file may appear in different locations when you press the Sleep hot key on a Microsoft keyboard (232433)

SYMPTOMS

When you press the Sleep Hot Key on the Microsoft Natural Keyboard to start your default screen saver, the Ssbezier.scr file may appear in the following locations:
  • In the Documents folder on the Start menu.

  • In the <drive>:\Windows\Recent folder, where <drive> is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Microsoft Windows is installed.

CAUSE

This issue may occur if you do not select a default screen saver.

RESOLUTION

To work around this issue, select a default screen saver. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  2. Double-click Display.
  3. Click the Screen Saver tab.
  4. In the Screen Saver box, click the screen saver you want to use.
  5. Click OK.
  6. Close Control Panel.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in Microsoft Natural Keyboard version 1.0.

If you want to use the Bezier screen saver and it does not appear in the list of available screen savers, copy the Ssbezier.scr file to the following folder on your hard disk drive

<drive>:\Windows\System

where <drive> is the drive letter of the hard disk where Windows is installed, and then click Bezier in the list of available screen savers. To do this, follow these steps:
  1. Click Start, point to Find, and then click Files or Folders.
  2. In the Named box, type ssbezier.scr.
  3. In the Look in box, click My Computer, and then click Find Now.
  4. In the list of found files, right-click the Ssbezier.scr file, and then click Copy.
  5. Click Start, and then click Run.
  6. In the Open box, type

    <drive>:\Windows\System

    where <drive> is the drive letter of the hard disk on which Windows is installed, and then click OK.
  7. On the Edit menu, click Paste.
  8. Close all open windows on the desktop.
  9. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
  10. Double-click Display.
  11. Click the Screen Saver tab.
  12. In the Screen Saver box, click Bezier, and then click OK.
  13. Close Control Panel.
