Cannot Save Null Modem Protocol Configuration in NetMeeting (232378)

SYMPTOMS

When you configure the null modem protocol in NetMeeting, any changes you make are not saved after you close NetMeeting. Additionally, if you restart your computer, the null modem protocol settings may be restored to use the default settings.

RESOLUTION

To work around this problem, configure the null modem protocol settings each time you run NetMeeting. To do so, follow these steps:
  1. In NetMeeting, click Options on the Tools menu.
  2. On the Protocols tab, click to select the Null Modem check box, and then click Properties.
  3. Click Com Port Properties, click to change any of the settings you want, and then click OK until you return to NetMeeting.
Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
