SYMPTOMS

When you run Microsoft PhotoDraw ClipArt Photo Gallery, you may receive the following error message:
The file Artgal50.mmc is corrupted beyond repair. You must delete or rename it.

CAUSE

This behavior can occur if the Windows 2000 registry is not updated with the correct settings for PhotoDraw ClipArt Photo Gallery.

RESOLUTION

WARNING: If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To resolve this issue, change the following values in the registry. Change the data value for each value from "REG_SZ:Both" to "Both":

This version of Microsoft PhotoDraw 2000 requires an update to function properly with Windows 2000. Photodraw 2000 reports that the clip art is corrupted beyond repair.
