File or Folder Search Displays Files with Incorrect Dates (232306)

SYMPTOMS

When you use the Search tool to find a file that is dated earlier than 1/1/1980 and you specify to search between two dates that fall after 1/1/1980, the search results display all the files that meet your search criteria, with the date ignored. This includes the files that have dates earlier than 1/1/1980.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
