Content Management Does Not Display PowerPoint 4.0 Files After They Are Uploaded (231895)

SYMPTOMS

Site Server 3.0 Content Management does not display Microsoft PowerPoint 4.0 files in the document lists after they have been uploaded. PowerPoint 95 and newer versions of .ppt files appear correctly.

CAUSE

When you use the PowerPoint 4.0 version of .ppt files, Site Server Content Management cannot write its own tags and values into the document because you are using an older version of PowerPoint.

RESOLUTION

To resolve the problem, save all version 4.0 .ppt files as a newer version.
