Access Denied Error When Using Site Server Web Admin (231590)

SYMPTOMS

When you try to administer various Site Server components using Web Admin, an "Access Denied" error message may occur.

CAUSE

The administrator account used to log on to the Web is not part of the Windows NT group.

RESOLUTION

If the Administrator account is being used, perform the following steps:
  1. Open the Site Server Microsoft Management Console (MMC).
  2. Open the Microsoft Directory Manager.
  3. Map to the proper Membership instance.
  4. Select Members , and then choose Administrator property.
  5. Select Group.
  6. Select Add.
  7. Select ou=ntgroups, ou=groups, and o=<proper Membership instance>.
  8. Choose Add All. Instead of Add All, access to various Site Server components can be restricted by selecting the proper Windows NT groups.
