Some Sound Events Do Not Work After Installing Internet Explorer 5 (231459)

After you install Internet Explorer 5 on your Microsoft Windows 95-based computer, you may notice that some sound events may not be played.
CAUSE
This behavior occurs in either of the following situations with Internet Explorer 5 installed :
- If the Active Desktop is enabled, the sound event for the Start menu and the sound event for the Favorites menu in Internet Explorer may not be played.
- If the Active Desktop is disabled, the sound event for the Favorites menu in Internet Explorer may not be played.
RESOLUTION
To work around this issue, use one of the following methods:
- Use a different .wav file for a sound event, and then change back to use the original .wav file.
- Upgrade your computer to Microsoft Windows 98.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
