When you save a file in a right-to-left version of Word 97 as HTML and then open it in Word 2000, right-to-left text in a left-aligned paragraph appears reversed, in a left-to-right order.
WORKAROUND
To work around this problem, run either the RtlRun or the LtrRun macro on the reversed text. This restores the text to the original reading order.
Follow these steps: - Select the text that is reversed.
- On the Tools menu, point to Macro and then click Macros.
- From the Macros in list, select Word commands.
- If you want the text to be right-to-left, select the RtlRun macro from the list, and click Run. If you want the text to be left-to-right, select the LtrRun macro from the list, and click Run.
- Repeat steps 1-4 for each section of text that appears reversed.
STATUSMicrosoft has confirmed that this is a problem in the Microsoft products that are listed at the beginning of this article.
